Because food doesn't sell itself. Even though the calendar doesn’t officially say summer yet, warm weather is here to stay for most of the country—and many of you are in the heart of food truck season. For those of you with trucks, we hope you’re ready for one of your biggest years yet! Fans love food trucks, and this is the perfect time to really make your business an integral part of your local community. For all of you aspiring food truck owners out there, be sure to hit up some of your favorite local FoodTruckrs this summer and check out what they’re doing right and how they’re driving along on the road to success! Here at FoodTruckr, we just wrapped up Unit 5 of “How to Start a Food Truck.” You can check out the two most recent posts in our Roundup section below! Coming up next: we move on to some fun lessons that are all about the side of your business that your fans will see—your brand, your logo, your website, and your social media pages. We’ve got just a little more than two months to go in the entire series, so buckle up and hang on for this wild ride! We were also really excited to feature several guest posts from community member Mike Kelley on FoodTruckr last week. Mike attended the Texas Food Truckin’ Fest in Arlington, TX at the end of April and kindly offered to share his experiences with the entire FoodTruckr community. Be sure to check out his recap of the event, his article on how food truck owners can create sticky memories to build long-lasting fans, and his awesome photo gallery to catch all the action! Finally, we wanted to let you all know that we recently learned some of our contact form messages were not making it into our email inboxes. If you emailed us and never received a response, please accept our sincerest apologies. We’ve fixed the problem now—so if you’re still waiting for a response, please email us directly at mindy@foodtruckr.com or use our contact form. Now… let’s see what’s been happening around the food truck industry! The FoodTruckr Roundup How to Start a Food Truck 18: Register Your Food Truck Business Over the last few months, you’ve done a lot of preparation, research, and planning. In Lesson 18, all of that work comes together in a single task that will make your food truck the real deal—organizing and declaring your business as a legal entity. Once you’ve completed this lesson, you’ll get to do all sorts of fun things like entering into contracts, paying taxes, and… oh yeah, selling food!
