I screwed up. Quick story. Back in 2002 when I got started online, I wrote and sold a weight loss eBook for $19.95. I learned all I could about SEO and ended up ranking in Google for every possible MAJOR keyword related to that niche. I got tons of traffic. My sales conversions were really low because I had no idea how to write a good sales letter, but because of the massive traffic I was getting, I ended up making about $5,000 every 2 weeks. That was HUGE for me at the time, considering my "real" job was making me about $2,500 a month! Over time though, my traffic dropped because I lost many of my Google rankings. As you likely known already, Google changes a lot. And any small Google change could mean you lose all your rankings and... ALL your traffic. With "normal" levels of traffic to my site, I was no longer making much money. You see, it's incredibly hard to convince someone to buy an eBook. If you're able to sell a digital product well, right now, then you're better than most. If you can't, well... then that is to be expected. I don't know what you think, but convincing someone to get your stuff is not only a pain, but is hard hard hard. So, why am I telling you this? Because after 12 BIG FAT years of marketing online, I've finally come to the conclusion that it's better to sell physical products online than digital. Yes, you heard me just say that... My reasoning? I have many, but mainly because it's INCREDIBLY easy to get someone to buy a physical product, as compared to a digital product, like software or an eBook. My conversions on physical products have never been less than double conversions of digital products. And, on average, they're 3-5 times higher! The majority of the time, people are already looking to buy what you're selling (if it's physical). It's usually not an impulse purchase, like a digital product sale is. But whatever the actual reason, it doesn't matter because, I've seen it happen over and over and over with my own business... And I've seen so many guys become millionaires, in what seemed like overnight, that I've finally come to admit that physical is the way to go. I always held back from pursuing it fully in the past, because I thought it would be hard. I mean, it sounds hard, right? Well, guess what? It's not! I promise. And yes, I heard other people tell me that in the past, too, and I still didn't believe them, until I finally found out for myself. It's so insanely easy that people with absolutely no internet marketing knowledge are doing 5-6 figures a month, doing it! These are people I know, personally. Not some random guy or girl I read about on a blog. This is something all of us internet marketers SHOULD be doing.
